We left Bartlett Cove at 4:30am hoping for calm seas on the outgoing tide. And wow...was it calm! As we crossed the mouth of Glacier Bay the sun rose above the mountains behind us and shone on our kayaks like a spot light. We rode the glassy seas with whales and sea lions to Point Carolus and by afternoon we were in the Inian Islands. Photographer: Bill Eichenlaub
