Tlingit formline art is a traditional Northwest Coast style that uses flowing, interconnected lines to create stylized representations of animals, people, and supernatural beings. The designs are built from characteristic shapes such as ovoids and U-forms, arranged to balance positive and negative space. This art form is commonly seen in carvings, textiles, and ceremonial objects and often conveys clan identity, lineage, and stories passed down through generations. Photographer: Sean Neilson
